I portray a preposterously aged Barbie (Aging-Activist Barbie) who shamelessly reveals her bohemian life during the 70s and her nefarious relationships with too many boydolls. My performances often deal with the spirit of woman and her transformative powers. I weave her original texts of material arising from a combination of personal, observed and fantasy experiences.
The video document (not yet uploaded in full) has been edited with original guitar music by Sean Carolan with fragments of the monologue superimposed in type over some of the action. An excerpt appears on youtube: Barbie with Scissors..
"Transformation Daze" is a garden performance relating to the Garden of Eden but with a twist of the main character- a caterpillar- becoming a butterfly/ becoming a snake who eats the apple...Butoh movement as I snake through the garden making offerings and sly glances to all those I encounter.
